Late Federal Mahogany Card Table (ca.1825) Part 3: The Completed Table

Below are some photos of the Federal card table I have been working on completed. The touch up on the top where the cracks were turned out really nice! This was an exquisite piece of furniture and the Cuban mahogany veneer really jumps out now. I am also impressed with the fine hand carved legs. The first few photos show the table with the top folded over and the last few photos show the table with the top open for card playing.

  1. Hi John!
I just found your blog as I was searching the net for info. on Walter Wabash. I'm attempting to take apart a table to re-furbish and found the name stamped on the slides.
At any rate, I read your post and was so surprised to see pictures of a round claw foot table identical to one my mom has had forever.
Can you offer any more info on that particluar table, such as age? Your post was dated 9/7/10.
    Thanks,
    Sabre'
